Former New York Jets star Darrelle Revis remains without a team three weeks into the 2017 NFL season. At one point, Revis was considered the best cornerback in the game and the Los Angeles Chargers may be interested to see if he's got anything left in the tank.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chargers reached out to Revis recently.

The Los Angeles Chargers recently reached out to free-agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, league sources told ESPN.

Apparently, Los Angeles wasn't the only team to express an interest in signing Revis recently, via Schefter.

The Chargers were one of a handful of teams, according to league sources, that have contacted the seven-time Pro Bowler, who played for the New York Jets in 2016 before being released in the offseason.

It'll be interesting to see if Revis gets another shot in the NFL. The 32-year-old hasn't been relevant since his lone season with the New England Patriots back in 2014 where he won his only Super Bowl title.

Although Revis isn't the same player of old that was once considered the best corner in the league, the seven-time Pro Bowler may still be able to provide a boost defensively for a team like the Chargers. Los Angeles placed Jason Verrett on the injured reserve list this weekend and Revis could be a short-term fit for the struggling franchise.
