The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take part in a rematch with the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football and it is uncertain if they'll have their starting running back. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs expect Clyde Edwards-Helaire to be available on Sunday, but he will need to go through pre-game warmups without any setbacks.

Late in the week, Edwards-Helaire began to be limited in practice and even missed Saturday's practice due to a stomach illness. Despite being listed as questionable, the Chiefs don't believe his illness is serious enough to keep him sidelined in Week 13.

Edwards-Helaire, Kansas City's rookie first-round pick, leads the team in rushing with 692 yards and four touchdowns. He's also contributed 30 receptions for 234 yards and another touchdown as a receiving threat.

When the Chiefs elect to run the ball, they tend to hand the ball off to Edwards-Helaire, who's garnered double-digit carries in eight of his 11 starts this season. However, if he's deemed to be unable to go in pre-game warmups, Kansas City could have to rely on Le'Veon Bell on the ground.

Bell signed with the Chiefs back in Week 6 after being released by the New York Jets. The former All-Pro running back actually had his best game of the season with Kansas City the last time they faced the Broncos. In the previous meeting, Bell had six attempts for 39 yards while sharing the workload with Edwards-Helaire.

On Sunday night, the Chiefs expect to have their full complement of weapons on offense for Patrick Mahomes. But if Edwards-Helaire isn't feeling well before the game, then they'll still have a talented back in Bell available.
