Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes may only be a rookie. However, his performance thus far in the 2018 NFL season screams league's most valuable player.
Mahomes' start to the year has been nothing short of spectacular. As a result, the sportsbooks have pegged him as the early favorite to win MVP, via BetOnline.ag.

The fact the Mahomes has risen up the ranks should come as no surprise. He has undoubtedly been the most dominant player in the league through the first three games of the season. More importantly, Kansas City looks the part of a potential playoff contender under his leadership.
Mahomes is currently listed as the favorite ahead of household names like Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although he may have made his career debut as a rookie last season, he is still somewhat getting accustomed to playing at the next level. However, it is clear that the transition has been seamless for him thus far. The former 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has now completed 62-of-93 attempts for 896 yards and 13 touchdowns.
It is difficult to imagine such a young quarterback being able to sustain that type of production. Although his numbers may soon start to tail off, there is no question that the Chiefs made the right move by transitioning to him this offseason. It appears the expectations for Mahomes and the Chiefs are as high as they can be moving forward.
