Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes fought one heck of a battle on Monday night against the New York Giants to grab their fourth win this season. And, Mahomes knew the Giants brought out the best in him and made sure to pay some respects to the entire squad after a tough Week 8 duel.

After the slim 20-17 win at home, Mahomes showed nothing but love to New York and dapped the Giants to acknowledge a job well done on Monday night (via ESPN):

It was a nail-biter with Mahomes and the rest of his Chiefs leaving everything on the field in Arrowhead Stadium. Week 8's low-scoring duel found the Giants on top early in the fourth quarter thanks to New York QB Daniel Jones connecting with Evan Engram to put the visiting team up 17-14 with virtually a whole quarter to play.

It took the Chiefs two huge field goals to tie the game and initially seal the win as Harrison Butker converted a go-ahead FG with 1:07 left to save the game for Kansas City. The win wasn't pretty but Mahomes and the rest of the squad know that a win is a win and they have to find ways to better themselves moving forward as they continue to fall at the bottom half of the  AFC West division.

“It's kinda like a microcosm of the whole entire year,” Mahomes told ESPN after the game. “We have great moments and we have bad moments. If we want to be who we want to be we gotta get better and execute better for a full game,”

Next up for Mahomes and the Chiefs is hosting reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and the red-hot Green Bay Packers on Week 9.
