The Kansas City Chiefs found themselves trailing the Houston Texans 24-0 early in the second quarter of their Divisional Round playoff matchup last week. A couple of hours later, they had advanced to the AFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs rattled off 41 unanswered points (with 28 of them coming in the second period) to ultimately secure a 51-31 win over the Texans, and now, Kansas City will get to battle the Tennessee Titans for a berth in the Super Bowl.

While athletes typically maintain a never-say-die attitude in public, Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins was very transparent when asked what his feelings were when his club fell behind by 24 last Sunday, saying that he thought it was over before tight end Travis Kelce told him to adjust his body language, per B/R Gridiron.

Watkins ended up logging a couple of catches for 76 yards in the win, and now, he will get the chance to help Kansas City advance to its first Super Bowl since the 1969-70 campaign.

The 26-year-old is in his second season with the Chiefs and caught 52 passes for 673 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season.

Watkins, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was originally selected by the Buffalo Bills with the fourth overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

While he has not exactly panned out as many hoped, bouncing around between a couple of teams before arriving in Kansas City in 2018, Watkins has developed into a reliable target for Patrick Mahomes and is unquestionably a very important member of an explosive Chiefs offense.
