The Kansas City Chiefs have lined up a primetime matchup on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams in what may be a pivotal matchup with major playoff implications.

Throughout the week leading up to the contest, wide receiver Sammy Watkins has taken steps forward toward being able to play in the Week 11 action. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Watkins has been labeled with the questionable designation on Saturday ahead of the game.

Watkins is officially listed as questionable for the game, with the foot injury that knocked him out of last Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

Watkins has been working his way back from a foot injury that forced him to miss last Sunday's 26-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He has been hampered by the ailment in the last two weeks that has limited his availability and effectiveness on the field. However, he has continued to make progress in his recovery from the injury that has potentially put on track to play in what could be a huge game that may have a major impact on shaping the playoff picture in both conferences.

In his first campaign with the Chiefs, Watkins has proven to be a solid option in the passing game as he has recorded 39 catches for 515 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Watkins is also only two games removed from his best performance since joining Kansas City, where he had eight catches on nine targets for 108 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Denver Broncos.

There may be some internal motivation for Watkins to take the field as it will be against his former team. He has struggled at times in his lone season with the Rams that played a part to him departing in the offseason. Nonetheless, this is something that the Chiefs will continue to monitor over the next couple of days.
