This wholesome exchange between Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson is a moment we all needed.

The Kansas City Chiefs started their championship defense on Thursday as they opened their 2020 season against the Houston Texans. The defending champions snagged a resounding 34-20 opening-night win as the reigning Super Bowl MVP was in his bag with three TD passes to lead the way for the Chiefs. Watson also had a solid season-debut with a TD pass himself and a total of 253 passing yards.

Both signal-callers shared a light moment on the second quarter which pretty sums up what we're all feeling with the return of the NFL.

The Texans were caught in scramble when Watson had to run out of the sidelines near the Chiefs bench. The Texans signal-caller then approached the opposing bench and took a comfortable seat beside Mahomes as both players shared a few smirks.

They were probably laughing about how many money bags they both got this offseason. Watson just recently signed a $160 million 4-year extension with the Texans while Mahomes inked a record-breaking $503 million 10-year deal.

Mahomes though ended their first meeting this season out-besting his QB counterpart with the Chiefs coming out on top. Watson and the Texans took an early lead in the opening quarter which was immediately erased as the Chiefs offensive line took the field.

The Chiefs left the Texans scoreless in both the second and third quarters to help them break away with the their first win this season. The defending champions also got their first look at rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire who had an impressive first game which should've left a smile on Patrick Mahomes' face all-evening long.
