UFC 268 saw the emergence of Chris Barnett who scored a huge knockout against Gian Villante. The spinning wheel kick surprised a lot of people.

Chris Barnett has been practicing the kick behind the scenes. He was the only person who wasn't surprised.

“That’s a kick I’ve been throwing since state taekwondo when I was 8 years old. My pops (coached me to win) my first state championship in Georgia with the step, spinning hook kick right to the head,” Barnett told MMAJunkie. “To throw it in this magnitude, to feel my pops with me in that moment – he recently had a stroke a while back. That was my cornerman. That was my dude. I want to do well for my pops.”

Now he has the opportunity to call out the person he wants next. Chris Barnett had three names following UFC 268.

“I came out unscathed – I’m ready to go. Allen Crowder – that was one name we had looked at at first. I don’t want to be like, ‘Ooooh, I knocked this guy out – give me the top 10.’ You’ve got to crawl before you can walk. Let me build myself up – even working back to a Ben Rothwell rematch so I can prove what I know I can do. Shoot, I actually fought Walt (Harris) a long time ago. I was overweight. That was supersize me. To give him a fair shot back here, that’d be cool. Those names – never in a disrespectful manner, but just because I know those guys are fighters.”

Allen Crowder is not likely as the North Carolina man is retired. Walt Harris and Ben Rothwell could be very interesting options.

Chris Barnett will be looking to capitalize off of his big win at UFC 268.
