The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for their coveted Super Bowl 56 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. After stunning Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Joe Burrow-led Bengals will look to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history, but they'll need to take on a tough Rams squad that will be playing in front of their home crowd in order to edge out a win.

The Bengals are no stranger to the underdog label, as it's a status they've played under throughout most of the season. Dating back to the start of the year, the Bengals were considered as likely to contend for the Super Bowl as the Jaguars and Jets. Fast forward a few months and the team is one win away from being crowned NFL champions and bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Cincinnati for the first time ever.

4 Bold Super Bowl Predictions for the Cincinnati Bengals

4. Bengals defense forces 2+ interceptions on Matthew Stafford

The Bengals defense has been impressive throughout the playoffs and that's a trend that should continue on Sunday. The Bengals forced two interceptions against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, and could post similar results against the Stafford-led Rams. Stafford has struggled with accuracy in 2021, leading the NFL with his 17 interceptions. That's something the Bengals need to take advantage of if they want to leave SoFi Stadium with a win, and the likes of Von Bell and Jessie Bates should be busy in the secondary against the pass-heavy Rams. If the Bengals can force some turnovers from Stafford they'll put themselves in a better position to pull off the upset. In games where Stafford hasn't thrown an interception this season, the Rams are 8-0, however, their record sits at 7-5 when Stafford throws a pick.

3. Joe Mixon racks up 125+ scrimmage yards

While Joe Burrow is clearly the Bengals X-factor for the Super Bowl, Joe Mixon may end up playing the most crucial role for the offense. The Rams will be honing in on trying to stop the Bengals' aerial attack. Cincy should expect a barrage of pass rushers coming after Burrow, especially given how feeble the offensive line has been. With that in mind, the Bengals could look to Mixon to carry a bigger workload both out of the backfield and as a pass-catcher. Having him available as a safety net on plays where Burrow needs to quickly get rid of the football could be crucial for the Bengals and should help Mixon rack up yardage in this one. We're predicting a big night for Mixon both as a rusher and receiver.

2. Joe Burrow throws for 300+ yards and 3 touchdowns

Joe Burrow shows up when it matters most. If there's any NFL quarterback that has proven throughout his football career that he has the clutch gene, it's Burrow. With the Super Bowl on the line, Burrow will be expected to have a big game, and even against a formidable Rams defense, he has the weapons to turn in a big night. With the likes of Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, Mixon, and potentially C.J. Uzomah at his disposal, Burrow will almost always have a trustworthy receiving threat to target in the passing game. All it takes is one big play for the Bengals to put up six points, and if Chase can get even a few inches of separation against Jalen Ramsey, who will likely be matched up with him for a good amount of the game, expect Burrow to seize the opportunity. With the spotlight shining bright, Burrow is going to come up big for the Bengals.

1. Bengals rally with second-half comeback

The Bengals were down 18 points at halftime against the Chiefs, yet no one gave up hope for a minute. This Bengals team is one of the most resilient in football, and they'll prove that once again during the Super Bowl. We're expecting the Rams to feed off the home crowd during the first half, but as the game settles down and players get locked in, the Bengals could make a big push in the second half. Burrow will likely need a bit of time to adjust to having Aaron Donald bursting through the trenches every play, but once he gets into a groove, the Bengals offense could put up some big numbers on the Rams. We're expecting the Rams to carry a lead into halftime, but the Bengals to walk away victorious.
