It has been a topic of discussion recently on whether or not the Los Angeles Clippers tampered with Kawhi Leonard before signing him ahead of the 2019-2020 season. Despite launching an investigation into the matter, Adam Silver doesn't seem to believe he'll find anything that shows the Clips committed any wrongdoing.

“All I can say there is everyone's entitled to the presumption of innocent,” Adam Silver said, via TMZ Sports. “Obviously, someone who is not known to me or the league office has made an allegation against the team.”

The allegation that Silver is speaking about stems from a voicemail that surfaced that allegedly involved Jerry West. A man named Johnny Wilkes filed a lawsuit against West, saying that the executive of the Clippers promised him a payment of $2.5 million to help recruit Leonard.

Seeing that the source claiming to say that the Clippers used illegal tactics to sign Leonard isn't in the NBA, Silver doesn't see much merit in the accusation. Nevertheless, Silver and the other members of the league office are conducting an investigation into the situation.

Before the 2019-20 season, following a championship run with the Toronto Raptors, Leonard signed with the Clippers. Los Angeles then acquired Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, giving them a dynamic duo moving forward.

On Monday, it was revealed that that the NBA would be removing a second-round pick from the Milwaukee Bucks due to them tampering with Bogdan Bogdanovic before having their trade for the two-guard collapse. While Milwaukee was punished for tampering, it doesn't appear as if the league will have to do the same to the Clippers.
