One former NBA executive believes the Los Angeles Clippers should trade for Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams.

The anonymous exec sees Adams being a perfect fit for the Clippers come playoff time, per Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report:

“That makes a lot more sense,” the second former executive agreed. “He's everything the Clippers would need for the playoffs. If the Thunder got Harrell, they'd still be competitive.”

Adams is still on the Atlanta Hawks’ radar and talks could potentially pick up steam as the NBA’s February 6 trade deadline approaches, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

In 38 games this season for the Thunder, Adams is averaging 11.8 points and 10.0 rebounds. He’s shooting 61.7 percent from the field and 57.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference standings. Technically, they can stand pat at the deadline and be fine heading into the second half of the season since they have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the way.

However, if the Thunder give signals they are willing to trade Adams, the Clippers should try and acquire him for the right price since LA's weak point on the roster is at the center position.

Steven Adams is making $25.8 million this season and owed $27.5 million in 2020-21.
