Infamous ex-Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is set to be the subject of a new television series that will detail his controversial tenure with the organization. Variety has learned that the limited series, which was ordered by FX, will document the scandalous nature of Sterling's ownership of the team, including his racist behavior and the ugly battle between himself and his wife, Shelly. According to Variety, Laurence Fishburn is set to play a significant role in the six-episode series, starring as former Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.

Jacki Weaver is set to star as Shelly Sterling in the series, which is being executive produced by Ramona Shelburne, who was the reporter and host of the original ESPN 30-for-30 podcast series from which this impending six-episode limited series is derived, The Sterling Affairs.

The limited series will highlight Sterling and Rivers' quest to bring a championship to the Clippers and make a name for the underdog franchise, as well as the infamous downfall of Sterling. Sterling owned the Clippers for 33 years before he was handed a lifetime ban from the NBA after racist remarks he made to his ex-girlfriend came to light. In addition to his lifetime ban, the former Clippers owner was fined $2.5 million, the maximum amount allowed. The league subsequently ordered Sterling to sell the team, which was purchased by Steve Ballmer, who remains the current owner.

There's no set release date for the upcoming limited series, but more information should become available as production gets further underway.
