Toronto Raptors star small forward Kawhi Leonard becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer once he declines his 2019-20 player option with the Raptors. The prevailing thought around the league is that if Leonard decides to leave the Raptors after just one season, he will take his talents to California.

However, it looks like Leonard has his eyes on the Los Angeles Clippers instead of the Lakers, as numerous reports have claimed Kawhi doesn't want to play with LeBron James.

According to an anonymous executive, the Clippers, and not the Lakers, are in the driver seat to sign Kawhi Leonard this summer:

“I think the Lakers are out, but the Clippers are the ones who think they have a shot at him if they decide to go that route,” the executive told Sean Deveney of Sporting News. “You hear a lot, he still wants to be on the West Coast. But give that group in Toronto all the credit in the world. They’re making it a tough decision for him.

“It might come down to just, ‘All right, how did the playoffs go, and how far are we from a championship?' “

The Clippers will have cap space this summer to sign two max contract players.

Leonard has been playing like an MVP this season for the Raptors. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year is averaging 27.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 49.9 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from beyond the arc.

All eyes will be on Kawhi Leonard this offseason, as he has a big decision to make.
