Klay Thompson would reportedly be open to taking a meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers if the Golden State Warriors don't offer him a five-year max contract once free agency starts on June 30, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Thompson tore his left ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The All-Star guard becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

It would be a shock to many people if the Warriors don't offer Thompson a five-year max deal as soon as free agency starts. However, crazier things have happened in the NBA.

The Clippers have cap space this summer to sign two max contract players. They are believed to be the front runners to land Kawhi Leonard should the superstar decide to leave the Toronto Raptors.

It's unknown when Thompson will be ready to play in 2019-20. Warriors GM Bob Myers said on Monday Thompson will have his ACL surgery later this week.

Thompson averaged 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Warriors this past season. The five-time All-Star shot 46.7 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.6 percent from the free-throw line.

This Clippers rumor is probably someone from Thompson's camp reminding the Warriors to not mess this up. All signs point toward Klay re-signing with the Warriors.
