The Indianapolis Colts have been cautiously optimistic with the status of quarterback Andrew Luck's health this offseason. Fortunately, fans were finally given a measure of reassurance from the man himself.

Luck was able to take part in some light throwing at Tuesday's practice. According to Kevin Bowen of the team’s website, he is adamant that he will return for Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season:

“Absolutely,” Luck said. “No knock on wood. I believe it in my bones.”

It goes without saying that Luck's comments are music to the ears of Colts fans. He has been out of commission since the end of the 2016 campaign and was forced to miss the entire 2017 NFL season with a lingering injury on his throwing shoulder. Unlike last year's updates from team owner Jim Irsay, this is coming straight from Luck himself.

The Colts' star also admitted that this is not the first time he has thrown a regulation-size ball. Luck played some catch with head coach Frank Reich a few weeks back with a normal ball unlike the lighter ones he has been practicing with. Regardless, it is still encouraging to see he has made tremendous strides in his recovery and is poised for a comeback this season.

When healthy, Luck is undoubtedly one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. However, there has been some speculation as to whether or not he will be the same in his return given the severity of his injury. Recent reports suggest Luck has heard the critics and is eager to show why he is still the face of the franchise.
