The Indianapolis Colts received some delightful news on Sunday when it was revealed that quarterback Carson Wentz will return to practice this week following foot surgery three weeks ago. Well, this early footage of him on the gridiron is definitely a massive reason for optimism ahead of Week 1.

Wentz is looking agile and limber. Obviously, he's not going at 100% yet, but the Colts star is definitely trending in the right direction, barring any setbacks. Indy was worried about Wentz's status for the season opener and was deciding if they will start Jacob Eason or Sam Ehlinger in Week 1. While the Colts won't be getting ahead of themselves, it looks like Wentz should be ready for the regular season.

There are high expectations for the former Eagles QB after struggling to succeed in Philly. Many believe a fresh start could be the answer for Wentz as he aims to revive his career. With his former offensive line coach Frank Reich now in charge of the Colts, he will certainly feel comfortable with his new team.

The fact that Wentz has recovered so quickly is fantastic. Indianapolis begin their 2021 campaign with a showdown against the always dangerous Seattle Seahawks on September 12th at Lucas Oil Stadium. So far in the preseason, the Colts are 2-0.
