Darius Leonard was all smiles at training camp on Tuesday for the Indianapolis Colts and rightfully so. Leonard recently agreed to a record breaking $99 million extension with the team, making him the highest paid inside linebacker in NFL history.

Back at practice on Tuesday with the Colts, Leonard seemed to be in quite the good mood.

The extension for Leonard was well earned as he has developed into one of the best at his position after being drafted in the second round by the Colts in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Every game Leonard has played in since his rookie debut he has started in, and he's played in at least 13 games all three seasons so far. He led the entire NFL in solo tackles (111) and combined tackles (163) right out of the shoot in 2018 as a rookie. He's only gotten more consistent since then.

It's been a big offseason for the Colts as they dished out the extension to Leonard and acquired quarterback Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately for Indianapolis, Wentz has already been a victim to the injury bug, undergoing foot surgery that could see him missing the beginning of the regular season.

Leonard himself underwent an offseason ankle procedure but there was never a doubt or an idea that it would cost him to miss games. And it hasn't as evidence by him being on the practice field Tuesday for the Colts.

With the extension comes even more expectations for Dairus Leonard and the inside linebacker for the Colts will keep that motor going to try and live up to it.
