The Indianapolis Colts didn't land Le'Veon Bell or any of the high-profile running backs in free agency, but that doesn't mean they're done sniffing around. The team brought in Spencer Ware for a visit, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Ware is looking for a new home after spending the last four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Originally a sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2013, Ware was cut by Seattle after just one season. He landed on his feet with the Chiefs and turned into a productive back in Kansas City.

In a breakout 2016 season, he rushed for 921 yards and three touchdowns, while catching 33 passes for 447 yards and another two touchdowns. With Jamaal Charles finally out of the way, Ware was supposed to have a huge 2017 season. In the preseason, however, Ware tore his PCL and was lost for the season. Kareem Hunt took over the starting job and played lights-out, relegating Ware to an afterthought.

Ware returned but played sparingly last season. Still only 27, he could be a decent low-risk signing for the Colts. Indianapolis was linked to Bell early in the offseason, but ultimately decided to pass. Marlon Mack emerged for the Colts toward the end of last season, and Indy currently has a solid backfield.

Mack is the starter and Nyheim Hines is a decent option as a pass-catcher, with Jordan Wilkins providing additional depth. If Ware signs with the Colts, he would be far from guaranteed to crack the 53-man roster.
