After just one season with the Buffalo Bills, cornerback E.J. Gaines is searching for a new team in free agency. The former St. Louis/Los Angeles Ram visited with the Arizona Cardinals last week, and now he has meetings scheduled with both the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, per the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Gaines' visit with the Jets is on Thursday, while the Browns meeting isn't until next week.

If Gaines signs with Gang Green in New York, he'll reunite with the cornerback who played opposite of him for the first three seasons of his career, Trumaine Johnson. Johnson left the Rams for the Jets after Los Angeles acquired Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib this offseason.

In Cleveland, Gaines could reunite with former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams as the Browns try to take a big step forward in 2018, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Both teams can use help in the secondary after finishing in the bottom half of the league against the pass in 2017.

Gaines moved to Buffalo in the Sammy Watkins trade along with a second-round pick in this year's draft. In 11 games played for the Bills, he racked up 59 tackles, three forced fumbles, and one interception.

The Jets already added Morris Claiborne this offseason to solidify the cornerback position, and adding Gaines would be another step in the right direction. Meanwhile, Cleveland has added cornerbacks T.J. Carrie and Terrance Mitchell as well as former Green Bay Packers CB Damarious Randall, but he will reportedly make the move to safety.
