After a 5-1 shellacking of Panama on Sunday, the USA Men's National Soccer Team is now on the brink of booking their ticket to the World Cup in Qatar later this year. With Canada having already secured their berth, the Americans can do the same on Wednesday in San Jose against a tough Costa Rica side, who are in fine form themselves.

There are a variety of different scenarios that will send the USA through to the World Cup. With a superior goal difference than Mexico, who are also stuck on 22 points, all Gregg Berhalter's side needs here is a win, draw, or a loss by anything less than six goals. Doesn't sound too difficult, right?

Well, the Americans come into this encounter in fine form, winning two of their last three games while bagging eight goals and conceding just once. They put on an attacking display vs. Panama, putting four past their opponents in the first half alone. Christian Pulisic was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick for his country.

Costa Rica meanwhile, is also playing impressive football. They've completely turned their qualifying campaign around and will likely represent CONCACAF in the World Cup playoffs against an Oceania country for a chance to make Qatar. The Ticos handed Canada their only defeat in the octagon last Thursday, then followed up the fantastic result with a 2-1 win against El Salvador at the weekend, with veteran striker Joel Campbell bagging the winner just before the halftime whistle.

With all that in mind, here's everything you need to know for Wednesday's CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying match between Costa Rica and the USA, including kickoff time, predictions, tv channel, live streaming info, and more.

Costa Rica vs USA Predictions

The last meeting between these two sides saw the USA run out as 2-1 winners in October and it should be another tough clash. The Costa Ricans are coming into their own at the best possible time and after beating the Canadians, who have ripped through qualifying, they won't be lacking confidence. Costa Rica is also unbeaten in their previous six outings, dropping just two points during that span while also notching wins over Panama, Jamaica, and Honduras. The Ticos even played to a scoreless draw with a very good Mexico outfit. At this point, it's a foregone conclusion the Costa Ricans will have the opportunity to fight for a spot in Qatar against the Oceania winner because they're four points ahead of fifth-place Panama. Their form on home soil is phenomenal as well, going 4-1-1.

The USA hasn't been in the World Cup since 2014, but finally, they're ready to return to the big stage. The Americans have actually never won on Costa Rican soil. However, their last four meetings went the way of the US, all on American territory. Sunday's performance was arguably one of their best in the entire qualifying campaign thus far, destroying the Panamanian backline. Defensively, they've stayed solid, with Walker Zimmerman putting in an absolute shift. Lille standout Timothy Weah returns to the fold here for the USA, while fullback DeAndre Yedlin is also available after serving a yellow card suspension.

While the US has dominated Costa Rica in recent memory, the hosts are flying high right now. I think they'll be able to salvage a draw in San Jose.
