Jason Garrett's seat is getting hotter and hotter.

If the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Buffalo Bills wasn't bad enough, the Dallas Cowboys fell to the Chicago Bears by a score of 31-24 in their Week 14 matchup on Thursday night, dropping them below .500 for the first time all season.

Afterward, Dak Prescott defended his head coach.

“We believe in our coach. We believe in his message,” said Prescott, according to Stefan Stevenson of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “We had our best week of preparation as an offense.”

While the Cowboys didn't exactly put up a ton of points, their offense wasn't even the biggest problem.

It was their typically stout defense, which gave up 31 points to a Bears offense that has been struggling all season long. Much-maligned quarterback Mitchell Trubisky tossed three touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown, and rookie running back David Montgomery totaled 86 yards on the ground.

All sorts of things are wrong with Dallas right now.

The Cowboys began the season 3-0, but since then, they have gone just 3-7 and have now lost three games in a row. They remain in first place in the NFC East, but that is only due to the ineptitude of the Philadelphia Eagles, who are coming off of a Week 13 loss to the lowly Miami Dolphins and are just 5-7.

Regardless of what happens the rest of the way in 2019, it's looking more and more like a sure thing that Garrett will not be patrolling Dallas' sideline next year.

Barring a miraculous Super Bowl run, his decade-long run as Cowboys coach appears to be coming to and end.
