In the last few weeks, there has been much bickering back and forth between the Dallas Cowboys and former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant that has finally shown the true feelings on both ends.

With that in mind, the Cowboys receivers coach Sanjay Lal has now chimed in on the situation taking a shot at Bryant for his lack of versatility at this point of his career pinpointing his inability to make plays down the field outside of back-shoulder catches, according to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of The Star-Telegram.

Receiver coach Sanjay Lal was answering a lingering question about whether the Cowboys were “going to have down-the-field guys who can go up and get a ball,” which was a Bryant specialty. His answer came with a zing at the end.

“I would think so,” Lal said. “I would rather have down-the-field guys that go run down a ball and score than live in the back shoulder world. We want touchdowns. We have some of those.”

This adds yet another element to the situation with another Cowboys staffer taking a shot at the 29-year-old, whose exit from the team has been less than ceremonious as he his inability to latch onto another team has led to more criticism being tossed his way. Bryant has been quite upfront over the entire process airing his feeling about how he was treated by the team that became a topic once again after team Executive Vice President Stephen Jones's quotes about him in a recent interview about were incorrectly represented via social media.

It is clear that the Cowboys have no interest in bringing back Bryant, and these comments from Lal make it clear that were some pent-up issues that concerning the wide receiver. This has only become a more drama-filled situation than a simple parting of ways that took place several months ago back in April.

Ultimately, the longer that Bryant remains without a new team, the longer this will be a topic of discussion around the Cowboys and Bryant.
