In his fourth season in the NFL, Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence experienced a breakout year that helped him earn his first Pro Bowl selection.

The 26-year-old is looking to build off that success this past year by working this offseason with a former Cowboys great and future Hall of Famer in DeMarcus Ware, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“Pass rusher to pass rusher, you always want to learn something new to up your game,” Lawrence said. “That’s what he’s coming out here to do — help us.”

Ware certainly has much to offer as during his career he was one of the league's top pass rushers that posted double-digit sacks in seven straight seasons with the Cowboys and eight times overall in his career. In fact, his 138.5 sacks rank eighth all-time along with being the second-fastest player in league history to reach 100 career sacks behind Reggie White while holding the Cowboys' record with 117.0 sacks and 32 forced fumbles.

There are plenty of tidbits of advice that Ware could provide Lawrence to help him achieve sustained success on the field beginning next season. The 26-year-old is coming off a breakout campaign where he showed much promise after recording a career-high 14.5 sacks that earned him his first Pro Bowl selection and a Second-Team All-Pro. He finished tied for second in the NFL in sacks, and his 79 total pressures were the third-most in the football land, according to Pro Football Focus.

Lawrence is also just the third player in franchise history to record at least 14.0 sacks in a single season, joining Ware and Jim Jeffcoat for that feat. This additional help that he is receiving from the nine-time Pro Bowler this offseason could be what helps him become a legitimate star in the league while earning a lucrative contract next March that would back up that notion.
