The Dallas Cowboys edged out the New York Giants in Arlington in the season opener, 19-3, and though Dez Bryant wasn’t much of a help in the contest, this didn’t stop him from talking smack at Giants’ cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

Bryant hauled in just two catches for 43 yards on nine targets in the game. His low production could be mostly attributed to the kind of coverage Jenkins had on him, though when asked about the matchup, Bryant insisted that Jenkins merely got some breaks in the game.

Per Jon Machota of Sportsday.com:

“I'm not trying to look too far ahead, but I'm looking forward to playing him again,” Bryant said. “I felt like he got lucky tonight. He caught some big breaks and that's how it goes. We got the W.”

Nothing in what Bryant said would immediately soothe the great disappointment he caused his fantasy owners, especially when considering that he was outplayed by the likes of Terrance Williams and Jason Witten, who had 68 and 59 receiving yards, respectively. The reception of his underwhelming performance on the field could’ve been even worse had the Cowboys lost the game.

It’s not about to get better for Bryant in Week 2, as the Cowboys take on the Denver Broncos, who finished last season second in DVOA against No. 1 wide receivers per Football Outsiders.
