Dallas Cowboys legend Drew Pearson has made his desire to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame no secret. On Saturday, the 70-year-old finally got his wish as it was officially announced that Pearson will be part of the 2021 Hall of Fame class.

The news was made official by the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Twitter:

You don't get more official than that.

Last year, Pearson was so confident that he would be voted into the Hall that he even invited a camera crew to cover his reaction to the highly-anticipated announcement. Pearson's name was never called, which made this heartbreaking moment available for everyone to see.

There won't be any misery this year, though, with the only tears flowing from the eyes of Pearson and his family being tears of joy. It has been a long and arduous journey for one of the greatest wide receivers of all time, and Saturday marked a momentous occasion in Pearson's decorated career.

Pearson, a one-time Super Bowl champ, is a three-time All Pro and three-time Pro Bowler. He's as decorated as they come, which is why there are more than a few folks who believe that Pearson's induction is long overdue. All the talk and the buildup to his much-anticipated inclusion into football's ultimate list will now come to an end.

It was a long time coming, and even Pearson himself would agree that it was a tad late. Nevertheless, Drew Pearson deserves all the glory of his enshrinement — now that it has finally been made official.
