With 24 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns at the time of writing, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot has thoroughly asserted his dominance in the team's Sunday matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

The performance marks Elliot's 25th 100-yard game of his four-year NFL career and puts the former No. 4 overall pick alongside Emmitt Smith and Tony Dorsett as the only backs in franchise history to have at least 25 such games, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Despite Elliot's effectiveness early in his career, the 6-foot, 228-pound running back has a long way to go if he wants to catch the other two Cowboy greats. In 11 years as a Cowboy, from 1977-1987, Dorsett had 43 100-yard games. In Smith's 13 years as a Cowboy from 1990-2002, the NFL's all-time leading rusher posted an incredible 76 100-yard games.

This season, Elliot has 246 carries for 1071 yards and nine touchdowns while also adding 41 catches for 338 yards and another touchdown for the Cowboys who will likely move to 7-7 on the year after the win.

Zeke has been among the NFL's best backs since he entered the league in 2016, leading the NFL in rushing yards in both his first and third season.

Elliot is unlikely to repeat as the NFL's top rusher in 2019 as before this Sunday, ranked sixth with Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns at the top with 1,281 yards.

After three straight losses to the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears, the win against the Rams came as a much-needed boost for Dallas as they vie for a playoff spot in the NFC.
