Dallas Cowboys head coach  Jason Garrett has talked down on rumors that he would make any changes to his staff. He told reporters that there would not be “any significant changes” to his coaching staff moving forward.

However, only a few hours later Garrett seemed to back down from his adamant claim and was a bit more open to potential personnel changes on the staff, according to Pro Football Talk.

“We haven’t had any substantive conversations. Scott did an excellent job for us this year. Again, I don’t know how I answered that question this morning. Nothing has changed. Again, I was in and around player meetings. I feel very good about what Scott Linehan did for us. Feel very good what Rod Marinelli, Kris Richard have done, Keith O’Quinn and everybody on our staff. We’ll have conversations about everybody as we go over here the next few days, and we’ll make a lot of decisions to put the staff together, put our team together as we go.”

Dallas had just lost to the Los Angeles Rams this past Sunday in a close 30-22 contest. They simply could not stop the Rams from pounding the ball on the ground. Los Angeles completely ran the Cowboys out of the game.

The Cowboys went 10-6 on the season. This past year the team had averaged 21.2 points per game, which ranked 22nd among all NFL teams. Their defense, however, was much more efficient, allowing only 20.3 points per game which ranked fourth overall in the entire league.
