The Dallas Cowboys went into the NFL offseason with looming questions regarding wide receiver Dez Bryant's future with the team. The Cowboys subsequently wasted no time in addressing their wideout needs with the addition of Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson.

As a result, there is some speculation that Bryant could be on his way out. However, according to Todd Archer of ESPN, head coach Jason Garrett says there is no correlation between their recent signing and Bryant's future in Dallas.

“We love Dez Bryant,” Garrett said. “Dez has been a great player for us for a long time. Any speculation about his contract or anything like that to me is irrelevant relative to the recent signings that we’ve made.”

The Cowboys made it clear at the start of the offseason that they intended on discussing a pay cut with their star wideout. Needless to say, Bryant has been vocal about wanting to maintain his $12.5 million salary for the 2018 NFL season. That said, the notion of his potential departure is becoming more and more likely by the day.

Dallas has somewhat solidified this notion with the addition of Hurns and Thompson. While neither carries the star power Bryant does, they bring some much-needed depth to an otherwise thin receiving corps. Furthermore, it is likely that the Cowboys are not done looking for more pieces to add to the mix.

However, Garrett is among those in the organization who have expressed a certain sense of optimism when it comes to the star wideout's future. Although they are in no rush to make a decision anytime soon, they have given little indication that Bryant will remain with the team.
