In the weeks that have followed the Dallas Cowboys' decision to part ways with former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant, there has been nothing but criticism tossed the wideout's way. There has been much doubt that he can return to being one of the elite talents at his position in the league.

However, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has remained in his corner throughout the process by continuing to voice praise his way. He once voiced support for Bryant by stating that he still strongly believes that he can be a highly productive player for another team in the league, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“I think that every evaluation that I’ve seen, Dez has an excellent opportunity to make a contribution and a significant contribution to a team. Our time was the time and the right time as far as our relationship but that doesn’t preclude him from being productive for another team.”

These comments come in wake of Cowboys scouting chief Will McClay recently stating that Bryant no longer has the ability to separate in one-on-one matchups down the field. There has been much evidence of his struggles in the passing game over the last three years as he failed to break 1,000 receiving yards in any one of those campaigns.

This new opportunity to play with another team could give him the extra motivation to prove that he can return to playing at a high level that had become accustomed to seeing him perform. It could also depend on where he lands this offseason that will determine if he gets a chance to play a significant role to show that he has plenty left in the tank.

Regardless of where he lands, Bryant will have Jones in his corner as one of his biggest supporters to achieve success in this next phase of his career.
