Since being released by the Dallas Cowboys after eight seasons back in mid-April, former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant has continued to remain afloat in the free agency market. There has yet to be any significant movement toward him finding his next landing spot with the start of training camp now underway.

All of this has Hall of Famer Michael Irvin worried a bit about Bryant given that he is still without a team with only just over a month until the start of the regular season, according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.

But as an unemployed Bryant watches players around the league report to training camp, Irvin can't shake one, gnawing concern.

“I worry about Dez's state of mind,” the Hall of Fame receiver said.

Revenge can motivate. Those overtones ran throughout Bryant's comments in the days and weeks after his unceremonious release from the Cowboys.

Bryant has continued to voice confidence about the situation, but there is no way around it at this point in time given that he hasn't had any significant interest since turning down the offer that the Baltimore Ravens presented him. It has been quiet on that front that leads the perception that his next opportunity may not come as soon as he expects to it.

He is still a productive wide receiver, but his game has fallen off a bit over the last three years failing to reach 1,000 receiving yards in any of those campaigns. There is also some concern that he can no longer create separation from defenders like he once did because of the leg injuries that occurred over his career.

This has all put Bryant in a tough situation of having to sit it out and wait for that opportunity to present itself to him. At this point, there is no way around how things have shaped up in the last few months.
