High expectations are always set for a franchise hailed as Forbes' most valuable sports teams for the fifth-straight year. Dallas Cowboys Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Stephen Jones was only ecstatic for the team's hopes for the upcoming season.

“We feel so good about this football team in general,” Jones said Friday, via the team website. “But I must say, with jumping on CeeDee Lamb in the first round, that this receiving corps is going to be something else.”

A star-studded wideout trio is now brewing in Dallas with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb. Explosive running back Ezekiel Elliot is still included in the picture as well.

Cooper and Gallup each had 1,000-yard seasons in 2019 which made Dallas average a whopping 431.5 yards per game, marking the first time since 1977 in which the Cowboys were the No. 1 offense in football.

The newest Cowboy in CeeDee Lamb was selected by the team with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He also concluded a productive three-year run with the Oklahoma Sooners as he amassed a total of 3,292 receiving yards on 173 receptions with 32 scored touchdowns.

He was a second-team All-Big 12 in 2018 and eventually made it to the first-team All-Big 12 in 2019. He was also a 2019 Consensus All-American and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Championship in their 30-23 win against Baylor University.

Armed with a more dangerous offense this time around, the Cowboys are looking to overtake the Philadelphia Eagles to clinch the NFC East in the upcoming season. Dallas finished with an 8-8 record, trailing behind division leader Philadelphia Eagles who topped with a close 9-7 record.

Their pursuit of a better campaign will commence as they visit the rebranded Los Angeles Rams on September 13 at SoFi Stadium.
