Defensive tackle Terrell McClain has been in demand ever since his release from the Washington Redskins. He’s already had two free-agent visits to Miami and San Francisco, and his next stop will be for a former team.

Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan reports that McClain is scheduled to visit with the Dallas Cowboys, for whom McClain played from 2014-2016.

ALERT: Source tells me #Cowboys have scheduled a visit to the Star this week with DT Terrell McClain. Team would love an affordable reunion here.

Cowboys vice president of player personnel Will McClay was asked shortly after McClain became a free agent about a possible reunion with the former Cowboy, and it seems the team would be amenable to such an arrangement.

“We’re gonna look at opportunities to improve the team,” McClay said, via 105.3 The Fan. “He had a great run here and if he wants to come back we’ll definitely look at it.”

McClain played in 30 games for the Cowboys over three seasons, recording a total of 61 tackles, 3.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. He had his best year in 2016, when he started all 15 games, had 2.5 sacks and 39 total tackles.

The Cowboys do have some solid options at defensive tackle with David Irving and Maliek Collins, but they are still relatively young at the position. No player is over 25 years of age with more than four years of experience.

McClain would be a welcome addition to that group, not just for his experience and leadership, but also for the depth he would provide as a seasoned veteran who's already familiar with the Dallas setup.
