Like a horror movie monster that comes back from the dead for one last scare, Kellen Moore is back! While he isn't going to murder some innocent teenagers at sleep away camp, the Dallas Cowboys recently cut the gunslinger, but have now signed him to the practice squad.

The team previously released Moore in September during final roster cuts and re-signed him to the 53-man roster the following week after tight end Rico Gathers was placed in injured reserve. This entire song-and-dance isn't knew to the now veteran signal-caller.

All of this moving about is so the Cowboys could keep their (apparently) beloved backup QB Cooper Rush on the main roster.  Moore was released prior to the start of the season so that the Cowboys could make sure they could keep Cooper Rush.

Moore was released this week so that the Cowboys could block the Philadelphia Eagles from trying to sign Blake Jarwin to their practice squad. The Cowboys then elevated Jarwin to their 53-man roster anyway.

In turn, it did create a practice squad spot for Kellen Moore. So the Cowboys will now stash him on the practice squad for a third time, according to ESPN.com’s Todd Archer.

For what it is worth, while Moore would unlikely be in-demand with other NFL franchises on the free market, he is familiar with Dallas and the entire organization for that matter. Even if he's only going to be — at least as of this moment — on the practice squad, it does provide some stability at the QB position.
