The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints kicked off Week 13 with a fantastic Thursday Night Football matchup. Coming into the game, both teams were red hot, the Cowboys winners of three straight, while the Saints were winners of ten in a row.

Despite playing in Dallas, the Cowboys were 7.5 point underdogs. However, they were able to seal the 13-10 win. It was a far cry from the amazing shootout on Monday Night Football a couple of weeks ago.

The defense was the key for Dallas as they held one of, if not the best offenses in the league to a mere 10 points. Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and co. had no chance against the Cowboys' defense.

On paper, it wasn't expected to be that great of a matchup but more people started to tune in. Eventually, the game hit the highest rating in Thursday Night Football history.

The 14.6 overnight rating is huge, especially if you're a Cowboys fan. The NFL will likely flex another Cowboys game into a primetime spot before the end of the season, as pointed out by John Ourand.

The Cowboys have always been one of the NFL's most profitable teams. They are dubbed “America's Team” for a reason. It makes things better when the team is winning.

Going forward, expect to see more of the Cowboys on primetime, or at the very least, the mid-afternoon slot. Three of the teams' last four games are scheduled for noon, but that will surely change.

Last night proved that this team could draw a crowd — on any day of the week.
