The New Orleans Pelicans have added several pieces to the puzzle during this NBA offseason that included the addition of former All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo on a one-year, $3.3 million deal.

Since Rondo's arrival, All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins has continued to voice praise toward Rondo, according to Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com.

Cousins has the first-hand experience playing alongside Rondo with the Sacramento Kings during their lone year together in the 2015-16 season where he averaged a career-high 11.7 per game. He also set several franchise records with the Kings such as Sacramento-era best marks for assists in a single game (22) and assists in a single season (839).

Although he struggled during his one season with the Chicago Bulls last season, he was able to break through late in the season that saw him latch onto a starting role. He was a huge reason why they were able to go up 2-0 in the first round of the playoffs against the top-seeded Boston Celtics before suffering a wrist injury.

Rondo's passing ability and knowledge of the game could help see a significant increase in production and efficiency on the court for Anthony Davis, who is coming off career highs with 28.0 points and 11.8. This could potentially help Davis become a serious MVP candidate depending on how well the Pelicans play this upcoming season.

The addition of Rondo could become one of the best offseason pickups that may have a tremendous impact on helping New Orleans breakthrough in the stacked Western Conference.
