The Denver Broncos went 6-10 on the season and finished third in the AFC West Division. Their lack of offense was apparent all season long.

Starting quarterback Case Keenum played all 16 games for the team, throwing for 3,890 yards with 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. His completion percentage sat at 62.3 percent and his quarterback rating was a 47.9 rate.

Keenum had a great season with the Minnesota Vikings a season prior. This is why the Broncos went out and acquired him for his services. His career season wasn't sustainable. He didn't have a great offensive line or a bevy of weapons to target in the backfield.

His inability to make the big play led him to be mediocre at best. Pro Football Focus ranked his play 24th overall among all NFL starters.

That is why this offseason John Elway and company went out and acquired Joe Flacco at quarterback. The former Baltimore Ravens quarterback has a lot more experience and is a better overall talent than Keenum. As the Ravens move on to Lamar Jackson as their quarterback of the future, Flacco became available on the market.

The 11-year NFL veteran was only able to start nine games last season. He was struggling with a nagging hip injury that kept him out for nearly half the season.

In those nine games, he was still fairly competent. He threw for 2,465 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. His completion percentage was at 61.2 percent and his quarterback rating was a solid 58.7. PFF ranked him 20th in the entire NFL. He's a much-needed improvement over Keenum.

Now that the Broncos have an improvement at quarterback, they need to add depth to their receiving core. They dealt away Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans midway through last season.

Their only weapon left is Emmanuel Sanders. Last season, he caught 71 passes for 868 yards along with four touchdowns. No other offensive player had more than 50 receptions or 750 receiving yards. With a lack of depth at wide receiver, the team needs to add quality to the position.

A great veteran addition to their wideout core would be Michael Crabtree. Last season for the Baltimore Ravens, Crabtree started all 16 games. He corralled in 607 yards with 54 receptions and three touchdowns. Outside of 2013, he's missed only eight games. He's very reliable and isn't hurt often. He's had three seasons with 80+ receptions and 900+ reception yards.

The very fact that they both played with the Ravens last season is also a huge plus. Both players have camaraderie as teammates. It would be a natural fit as far as chemistry goes.

The Broncos already have a solid defense. That's not likely to change. However, to win games, they need a more consistent offense. An offense that has production from the quarterback and his wide receivers in the backfield.

Adding Crabtree would be the perfect acquisition that the team needs this offseason.
