The return of Clayton Kershaw to the Los Angeles Dodgers has many fans jumping for glee. After an electric start to the season, the legendary pitcher has missed several games due to an elbow injury. His return from the injured list comes at the perfect time, as LA has struggled as of late.

However, as one ace pitcher returns, another one heads to the injury list for the Dodgers. Walker Buehler, the team's young ace, has been placed on the team's 15-day injury list. Buehler's injury is reported as a “right forearm strain.” According to manager Dave Roberts, the star pitcher will be out for “a good bit of time,” via Jack Harris:

After contending for the Cy Young Award in his first few seasons, Walker Buehler has struggled during the Dodgers' 2022 campaign. His ERA has shot up from 2.47 to 4.07, and he has thrown some stinkers of late. Perhaps his reported right forearm strain has been the reason for this slump from Buehler.

The Dodgers still hold the top spot in the NL West as of the time of writing. However, the Padres have been hot on their heels all season long. Buehler's absence also comes at a bad time, as the team has lost six of their last 10 games.

Kershaw's return will undoubtedly give a massive boost to this rotation. His veteran savvy and elite pitching despite his age has come in clutch when healthy However, if the Dodgers want to make another title push, they'll need their pitching rotation to be in top form all season long.
