The Los Angeles Dodgers easily have one of the best rosters in all of baseball. They were hoping they could also get former All-Star pitcher Trevor Bauer back this season, strengthening their rotation. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts appeared on The Rich Eisen Show Thursday, and left a strong remark regarding the potential future of Bauer with the organization.

Roberts briefly talked about Bauer's potential of returning this season. When asked if the Dodgers were preparing to start the 2022 MLB season without Bauer for however long, Roberts responded saying “Absolutely, yep. Yes, sir.”

Roberts did also note that newly re-signed Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw will be ready for his first start in the rotation, whenever that would be.

Major League Baseball placed Bauer on administrative leave last week as they are deciding whether or not to suspend him. Bauer is still under investigation by the league for possible sexual misconduct.

Bauer last pitched last June for the Dodgers. Shortly afterwards, he was accused of sexual assault. MLB in conjunction with the Players Association had decided to place him on administrative leave, and then extended that out through the rest of the season last year.

In February, we learned that Bauer is not going to face criminal charges relating to the incident. However, it appears that Bauer's future in baseball, at least in the short-term, is still in jeopardy. The league is within its rights to suspend Bauer based on findings of their investigation, whether or not criminal or civil charges are filed.
