The Miami Dolphins have now made it back-to-back wins following their Week 6 victory over the New York Jets. The Dolphins shut out the Jets, too, securing an impressive 24-0 victory over New York. For Miami quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, though, he believes that there's still a lot of work to be done.

The Dolphins' win on Monday night follows their stirring Week 5 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Fe. For his part, Fitzpatrick admitted that he's happy with how his side has been trending up:

“I would say we’re still a work in progress, but we’re definitely heading in the right direction,” Fitzpatrick said in his postgame press conference, via Josh Alper of NBC Sports. “We’ve brought in a lot of new guys this offseason and I think we’ve brought in the right kind of guys, and everybody has really meshed well. Even a couple weeks ago sitting at 1-3 not really feeling sorry for ourselves but continuing to work, and now to get a couple in a row and sitting at 3-3 going into the bye, it’s a good feeling for us, and I think we’re coming together as a team.”

Fitzpatrick had an impressive performance against the Jets, going 18-of-27 passing for a 191-yard gain. The 37-year-old veteran also threw all three of Miami's touchdowns, which were all in the first half.

Now is not the time to rest on their laurels, though. Miami get their bye for Week 7, and this would be a great opportunity for them to make the necessary preparations for their Week 8 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
