Fans of the Miami Dolphins were patiently waiting to purchase the jersey of Tua Tagovailoa after he was picked by the team in the 2020 NFL Draft; now they can with confidence. According to ESPN's Field Yates, Tagovailoa revealed that he's going to wear No. 1 with the Dolphins.

Of course, in college at Alabama, Tagovailoa thrived under Nick Saban wearing the No. 13 jersey. However, the No. 13 jersey is retired for the Dolphins due to some guy named Dan Marino.

Provided that, it was already known that Tagovailoa was going to be wearing a new number in 2020. After a couple of weeks to decide, the left-handed quarterback will be wearing No. 1 in his first season in Miami.

With the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dolphins selected Tagovailoa in hopes he could become the team's franchise quarterback. Despite his obvious injury concerns, Tagovailoa was arguably the most talented quarterback available in this year's draft.

Regardless of what Miami plans on doing with him in his rookie season, fans are undoubtedly going to purchase. The Dolphins, a team that's made the playoffs just twice since 2008, need something to look forward to. If Tagovailoa can remain healthy, he could be the next Dolphins great at the quarterback position.

In recent weeks, some of the notable names in the 2020 NFL Draft have begun unveiling what jersey number they'll wear in the NFL. Less than a week ago, Joe Burrow announced that he'd be wearing the No. 9 jersey with the Cincinnati Bengals. Unlike Burrow, Tagovailoa won't be able to wear his college number, as he makes the switch to No. 1 with the Dolphins.
