The #9 Duke Blue Devils had to hold on to defeat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, 86-84, Tuesday. However, during the win, Duke head coach Mike Kyzyzewski was forced to miss the second half due to an undisclosed illness. He was reportedly tended to multiple times during the first half and did not come back from the locker room after halftime.

According to ESPN Staff writer David Hale, Coach K was not acting like himself during the first half and was experiencing dizziness in the locker room during the break.

Duke built a 19-point lead early in the second half, but it almost disappeared. With Coach Krzyzewski in the locker room, Wake Forest stormed back and tied the game at 84 in the closing seconds. However, Duke forward Mark Williams got a put back dunk with under a second left to give the Blue Devils the lead.

Wake Forest's Demari Monsanto's heave from 82 feet rimmed out and Duke held on for the tough, conference win.

With Coach K in the locker room, Duke was led by Jon Scheyer on the bench. Scheyer is set to become the next head coach of the Duke Blue Devis next season. Coach Krzyzewski has already announced that this will be his final season coaching. If tonight is any indicator, Scheyer might need a little work keeping the players focused on playing a full 40 minutes.
