Elden Ring may look dreadful at times, but it's still a power fantasy game at its core. The proof? Elden Ring's cool and badass weapons.

Souls players won't be surprised to find out that Elden Ring has a lot of cool and badass weapons just within every player's grasp. While not all of these weapons can be obtained easily, they're still very nice to have. Sometimes, you'll end up getting one of these weapons and, disappointingly, find out that you don't have the requisite stats to wield them. So, spoiler alert, we'll be telling you exactly how to get these cool and badass weapons, and what the required stats are to get them. In this way, you can hunt for these weapons and level up your skills to match the requirements, allowing you to use these right after you pick them up from the hands of a deadly boss. Special thanks to the contributors of the Elden Ring wiki for the info on these items.

Elden Ring's Coolest, Most Badass Weapons – Their Required Stats and Where to Find Them

In no particular order:

Godskin Peeler

How to Get: Dropped by Godskin Apostle (Boss) in the Altus Plateu
Required Stats: 17 STR 22 DEX
Scaling: STR E DEX C

The Godskin Peeler is an easy to get and easy to wield weapon but looks so badass. The boss isn't that hard to beat on horseback specially, so you can just cheese him to death to get this weapon. It's a twinblade weapon with the devastating Black Flame Tornado skill, which doesn't only look very satisfying to watch, but is a useful skill to use to get out of picky situations. With high DEX scaling, it's a great weapon for players who love quick fighting styles.

Horn Bow

How to Get: Found on a corpse in Siofra River under the stairs leading to Hallowhorn Grounds
Required Stats: 10 STR 14 DEX 12 INT
Scaling: STR E DEX D

The Horn Bow is one of the easiest to get weapons, not even requiring you to beat any boss to get it. While most bows are used only to get the aggro of enemies and to lure them into a 1v1 battle with you, the Horn Bow makes fighting in range combat viable. It requires INT because the weapon imbues magic on the arrows it shoots, and even has a bigger bonus for arrows that are already imbued with magic.

Golden Halberd

How to Get: Dropped by Tree Sentinel in Limgrave
Required Stats: 30 STR 14 DEX 12 FAI
Scaling: STR D DEX E FAI D

While not one of the most powerful weapons in the game by itself, the Golden Halberd is still a nice pick-up, especially for the early game. Its high stats requirements make it almost impossible to wield when you beat the boss in the early game, but being able to wield this weapon is both a sign of triumph and progress. Leveling up enough to finally be able to wield the weapon effectively shows your growth, and brandishing this weapon in front of friends and foes tell them that you've finally beaten the first overworld boss in the game.

Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear

How to Get: Trade the Remembrance of the Blood Lord item with Enia at the Roundtable Hold
Required Stats: 24 STR 27 ARC 14 DEX
Scaling: STR D ARC D DEX E

Getting this weapon is worth it even just to see the ridiculous skill it has. You will literally spear an invisible god with it so that it'll bleed bloodflame on the Sacred Spear, imbuing it with arcane damage. Add to that on the spear's gruesome look, and you have a weapon that is as deadly as it is fearsome.

St. Trina's Torch

How to Get: Looted from a treasure chest in the caravan wagon in the southern portion of Consecrated Ground
Required Stats: 10 STR 10 DEX 14 FAI
Scaling: STR E DEX D FAI D

Whoever said torches aren't worth the hassle of equipping clearly haven't found St. Trina's Torch yet. This unique torch weapon can use the Fires of Slumber skill that puts enemies to sleep, allowing you to switch out to a different weapon to stab them with a critical hit while they're dozing off.

Magma Whip Candlestick

How to Get: Given to the Tarnished by Patches in Volcano Manor after completing his assassination quest, Great Horned Tragoth
Required Stats: 8 STR 16 DEX 18 FAI
Scaling: STR E DEX D FAI D

The Magma Whip Candlestick is one of the most badass-looking weapons in Elden Ring. Its skill is equally badass: Sea of Magma lets you swing the whip and surround the area around you with molding magma, making approaching you very dangerous for your enemies.

Giant's Red Braid

How to Get: Trade the Remembrance of the Fire Giant with Enia at Roundtable Hold
Required Stats: 18 STR 12 DEX 21 FAI
Scaling: STR D DEX D FAI D

Giant's Red Braid is your reward for beating the Fire Giant, one of the game's Legend-type bosses. Using this weapon's skill imbues it with the Giant's Flame, making it even more dangerous than just wielding it as is. It's kind of weird, however, for it requires a lot of FAI to wield, but get past that roadblock and you have yourself a cool and badass weapon.

Moonveil

How to Get: Dropped by the Magma Wyrm Boss in Gael Tunnel in Caelid
Required Stats: 12 STR 18 DEX 23 INT
Scaling: STR E DEX D IND C

Arguably the best katana in the game, the Moonveil lets you shoot beams of light that deal Light damage. Imagine Link's Master Sword attacks and you get the picture. The high INT requirement might catch Samurai players off-guard, but the Moonveil is actually much more fit for DEX INT players than natural Samurai.

Hand of Malenia

How to Get: Trade the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess to Enia
Required Stats: 16 STR 48 DEX
Scaling: STR E DEX B

Okay, but what about a katana that Samurai can actually use? The late game Hand of Malenia katana is the epitome of DEX gameplay. It's actually the prosthetic arm of Malenia – you know, the woman general with red hair from the trailers? The weapon deals a great deal of blood loss buildup and has a very fancy skill called Waterfowl Dance that is such a delight to watch get executed properly.

Visage Shield

How to Get: Found in a chest in the underground area of Caelem Ruins, after defeating the Mad Pumpkin Head Duo bosses
Required Stats: 44 STR
Scaling: STR D

Not all of the coolest and badass weapons in Elden Ring are made of blades, magic, or whips, Sometimes, they are shields. While not really a fantastic offensive item, the Visage Shield still is badass. It has a very high block rate, allowing you to endure a lot of punishment with it. On top of that, you can use the Shield's skill Tongues of Fire which allows you to use the shield like a flamethrower. Of course, the shield also gives you considerable fire resistance, because of course it does.

And that's our list for the top 10 coolest and most badass weapons in Elden Ring. While your journey in the Land Between would definitely become easier when you get these weapons, don't forget that you'll need more than just weapons to survive. Look for armor as well, and find the weird-looking “crowns” that actually look like Aristotlean stone masks that give passive buffs to your stats – they might be the key for you equipping some of the weapons above. And finally, skill is just as valuable as the equipment you have, so be sure to hone your dodge rolls and trigger discipline as well.
