Eli Manning is putting up with Odell Beckham Jr.‘s amusing antics on the sidelines, for now.

To clarify, they're amusing for fans. We watch for the theatrics, and regardless of how well he plays, Odell brings them. But, when the Giants are struggling, they're quite frustrating for their players and coaches.

That was the case in both Weeks 3 and 4. While struggling against the Redskins‘ secondary, Beckham threw down a kicking net. Then, the following week, he committed a couple late hits on the VikingsXavier Rhodes, resulting in costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

The young receiver responded in a big way on Sunday though, gaining 222 yards through the air while scoring two touchdowns, one of which was the game-winner. He celebrated by taking his helmet off, which resulted in another 15-yard penalty. He then pretended to propose to the kicking net on the Giants' sideline.

The flag didn't end up costing New York, but it could have. That's where most of Eli's problem lies.

Here are Manning's comments on Odell, courtesy of Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News:

“It’s one of those deals where hey, you can get real sick of it if he’s not going out there and making plays,” the quarterback said.

“Obviously we've got to be careful about getting penalties late in the game and putting our defense in a bind right there.”
