Evil Geniuses has officially moved Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev to an inactive position on the roster. EG broke their months-long silence with the announcement on their official Twitter account stating the roster adjustment. Players moving to the inactive roster usually means a massive lineup change for any Dota2 team.

RAMZES666 joined Evil Geniuses in September 2019 but found little success in international tournaments. The team last competed in the Omega League in September, where they finished at a dismal fifth place. EG is one of the many organizations that struggled during the Pandemic. There were attempts to compete in NA and Europe, but no substantial victories were claimed. The decision to make massive changes to the roster was a natural response to the lack of successful outings.

Artour “Arteezey” Babaev, Abed “Abed” Yusop, Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen, and Tal “Fly” Aizik remain on the roster pending additional changes in the future. Kanishka “BuLba” Sosale, the Dota2 legend and former TI champion, still helms the team as its coach.

There might be more impending changes to the EG roster in the near future.  Abed Yusop, Evil Geniuses' current Mid player, has not played for Evil Geniuses since March 2020 in the Dota Summit 12 tournament. Abed has since been spending his time playing as a stand-in for different teams in Southeast Asia.

It is the perfect time for ailing teams to make changes to their lineup. The Dota 2 shuffle is in full swing since Virtus.pro recently promoted its academy team. The postponement of The International 10 to 2021 has given all teams the space to take stock of their rosters. We can expect more changes to many other Dota2 teams in the coming weeks.
