UFC 270 was a strange event as Francis Ngannou became a wrestler, Ciryl Gane showed low fight IQ, Deiveson Figueiredo is champion again, and Brandon Moreno has beef with the new champion's coach. It was a strange night of fights but not necessarily a memorable one.

There were many opinions on the way the main event of UFC 270 played out. Many were impressed with Francis Ngannou adding a new wrinkle to his game, others thought the fight was 'embarrassing.' Either way the heavyweight champion got it done and now he has a complicated future as he renegotiates with the UFC.

The co-main event was a very exciting affair as Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo hurt each other multiple times and fought very hard for all five rounds. The co-main event stole the show at UFC 270.

We're going to be taking a look at the fights to make the main and co-main event of UFC 270. There are plenty of interesting options for all men involved but things do get tricky for the heavyweights.

Brandon Moreno

There are lots of fun options for Brandon Moreno now that he is no longer the flyweight champion. UFC 270 showed he is one of the best fighters in the division and he's going to be a problem for anyone hoping to get a title shot. It's difficult to find a fresh matchup for the former champion as he has fought just about everyone at flyweight. Askar Askarov and Kai Kara-France are booked to face each other, he's already fought Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval. There is only one name that is a fresh matchup, Alex Perez, and he has a fight booked. The best option for Brandon Moreno is to either push for a fourth fight with Deiveson Figueiredo or take some time off and wait to fight the loser of Kara-France vs Askarov.

UFC 270 co-main winner: Deiveson Figueiredo

Finding a fight for the new flyweight champion after UFC 270 is easy since flyweight currently has a number one contender fight booked. Askar Askarov and Kai Kara-France are currently booked to face each other in March and the winner would be deserving of a title shot. The other option is if the UFC would be interesting in booking them in a fourth fight. UFC 270 left a lot of people undecided on who the better fighter was and many welcomed the idea of a fourth fight. It would be tough to hold up the division and the two could rematch in the future.

Ciryl Gane

Ciryl Gane finds himself in a tough position as he's one of the best fighters in his division but he wasn't able to beat the champion. UFC 270 saw him lose a frustrating decision mostly through wrestling. The Frenchman is one of the best fighters in the division but lacks the dangerous finishing tough of Francis Ngannou. Gane has some fun options after UFC 270 and that includes fights with either Curtis Blaydes or Stipe Miocic. Miocic is in a tricky spot as he's considered the best UFC heavyweight of all time and he rarely competes outside of title fights. The fight would be excellent though. Blaydes is a good option too as it would force Gane to work on his wrestling. The fight that would make the most sense for the title picture would be Curtis Blaydes with Miocic potentially taking on Ngannou in a trilogy bout. Of course, Jon Jones will factor in if he does actually move up.

UFC 270 Main Event winner: Francis Ngannou

The champion finds himself in a very tricky spot as his future is very murky and unclear. Francis Ngannou is still under contract with the UFC and he will need to figure out his future in 2022 before he can take another fight. Big fights in boxing could await him with Tyson Fury expressing interest and many other names potentially in the mix at heavyweight. Let's assume he gets paid what he deserves and he stays with the UFC. He has two realistic options in a division that's lacking contenders for him. UFC 270 had the rare heavyweight that had yet to fight him and he lost. Now there are two options, a trilogy with Stipe Miocic or a fresh matchup with Jon Jones. Miocic will likely need another fight before he can get a title fight so let's go with the fun option, Jon Jones. Jones would make for a huge fight and the style matchup would be very interesting.
