Forged in Shadow Torch, or F.I.S.T. for short was initially slated for an October 2020 release. Now, we finally have the real release date.

F.I.S.T. Release Date: September 7, 2021

The F.I.S.T. release date, September 7, 2021, has been revealed during Sony's State of Play live stream earlier today.

F.I.S.T is a 2D side-scrolling platformer game where animals attempt to exterminate machines that have taken over their world. Based on the trailer, the game resembles Castlevania and Rayman Legends because of its hack-and-slash gameplay.

Not only that but there’ll also be RPG elements added into the game with the environment being expansive filled with secrets and upgrades to explore. The cool part about this game is that players will be able to wield multiple weapons throughout the game, giving players more options to create combos in a battle.

The main protagonist of the game, Rayton, is a rabbit who went MIA after the invasion of the machines six years ago. After finding out about his friend getting kidnapped, he had no other choice but to come out of his rabbit hole to take on the machines.

TiGames’ entry into the Metroidvania genre is very timely since the genre has been experiencing high popularity these days. Although fans of the game have been anticipating its release since 2019, F.I.S.T. launching a bit later than expected doesn’t seem so bad. We could even say that it’s better that things ended up this way. At least the developers had more time to fully polish the game for everyone to enjoy the full experience.
