The Ascent received great reviews when it released on July 29, but it's far from perfect. There were a lot of bugs, especially on co-op, and it had some missing features on the Xbox Game Pass version. Thankfully, there's now a way to eliminate these issues, and it's a very simple fix that anyone can apply.

The Ascent is an isometric twin-stick shooter that is intense to the core. Friends can hop in with a friend and complete missions together. However, The Ascent‘s great gameplay is dampened by the notorious bugs its co-op implementation experiences. These issues include not being able to save your progress as the guest player, for instance. These bugs really made it hard for reviewers to recommend The Ascent to people who were mostly after the co-op gameplay.

Apart from that, The Ascent on the Xbox Game Pass had some missing features: DLSS and ray tracing. These two don't really affect gameplay, but the aesthetics improve so much when they're on. DLSS may even come in handy in increasing the game's performance. Oddly enough, the Steam version of the game has both, but they are missing in the Xbox Game Pass version.

How to fix The Ascent Xbox Game Pass Bugs, Add Ray Tracing

Thankfully, a new update dropped last week. When updating your game to the latest version, Xbox Game Pass players will find that their The Ascent game finally can enable ray tracing. Sadly, no news yet for DLSS, so you might still have to suffer some frame rate issues. Most importantly, The Ascent co-op bugs have been fixed in the August 6 Patch, making the game more fun when playing with friends.
