Not a few Florida Gators fans have been voicing out their displeasure with the team for most of the season, and it probably hit its crescendo Saturday night when Dan Mullen's squad fell prey to the Missouri Tigers on the road to the tune of a 24-23 score. That loss put the Gators below .500 for the second time this season. And now, Gators fans are trooping to Twitter to call for Urban Meyer's return to Gainesville as Dan Mullen's replacement.

What started as a promising season for Florida after going 3-1 in their first four games, including a close two-point loss to powerhouse Alabama Crimson Tide, has become a nightmare for the football program, which needs a win next Saturday against the Florida State Seminoles for a shot at bowl eligibility.

Random people shouting on Twitter are unlikely to get the Gators' or Meyers' attention, but it could get louder if Mullen fails to steer the Gators next weekend past the Seminoles.  Florida has appeared in a bowl game in each of Mullen's first three seasons as the Gators' head coach, with wins in the Peach Bowl and Orange Bowl.

As for Meyer, who knows how his tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars ends up. He's not exactly doing a particularly excellent job based on the on-field production of the Jags, so let's just say there's a smaaaall chance he thinks of college again and returns to Florida.
