The Milwaukee Bucks pulled off yet another gritty win, this time a 108-105 overtime win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday to catapult them to fifth place in the East.

As expected, Giannis Antetokounmpo stole the show with a near-triple-double effort of 28 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists — but the Bucks also were recipients of a scoring effort by an unlikely source — Thon Maker.

The rookie forward tallied a career-high 23 points in the win, but it didn't come without some constructive criticism from the franchise player in his post-game interview.

“He brings energy, rebounds the ball, runs the floor, he does a little bit of everything, but the most important thing is he’s listening and he’s learning,” Antetokounmpo told Fox Sports Wisconsin. “I told him to play in this game you don’t have to hesitate. Actually in overtime, I told him, ‘If you hesitate, I’m gonna punch you, so shoot the ball whenever you get it.'”

That's some advice/threat from the Kevin Garnett school of basketball grooming — and it clearly seemed to work, as Maker scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and overtime period of the game.
