After losing to the Philadephia Eagles in ugly fashion, New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur says he is not concerned with the play of starting quarterback Eli Manning, via the team's official Twitter account.

In their 34-13 loss to the Eagles, Manning didn't play well at all looking very hesitant in throwing passes, and when he did, he usually overthrew them. He did throw for 281 yards, but most of those were from check-downs to running back Saquon Barkley who seemingly was the only guy playing well for the Giants.

Barkley had 13 carries for 130 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown. And he added nine receptions for 99 yards, including a spectacular 55-yarder where he eluded several would-be tacklers.

Star receiver Odell Beckham was bottled up by New York's defense only getting 44 yards on six caught. He was visibly frustrated and was seen slamming his head into a giant cooling fan on the sidelines.

It's tough to put the loss solely on Manning as everyone outside of Barkley, especially the offensive line, has played subpar for the Giants the whole season. But the lack of big downfield plays has been glaring, and that responsibility falls on his shoulders.

At 37 years old, the signs of decline are clearly showing for Manning. Unfortunately for the Giants, after falling to 1-5, this would mean another year where the team's young talent will go to waste.
